About

I help people understand themselves more fully— helping them to understand themselves and other people more deeply, work more wisely and, ultimately, to live with greater ease.

Whether you're a business leader navigating high-speed change, a member of a team that's lost its direction, a couple in difficulty, or an individual carrying something emotionally heavy, I bring the same quality of attention to all that I do: curious, human, and grounded in decades of real-world experience across therapy, coaching, and organisational life.

ABOUT ME

My path to this work is unusual, and I think that's what makes it effective.

I began my career in media — as part of the founding editorial team at Men's Health Magazine, helping to build it into the world's most successful men's lifestyle brand. It was there I became fascinated by what makes people and their teams function well: the interplay of trust, communication, vulnerability, and productive conflict.

That fascination led me to retrain as a psychotherapist in the early 2000s, working first in the psychotherapy unit of King's College Hospital NHS Trust before establishing my own private practice in central London. In 2010 I was one of the first to join the faculty of The School of Life — the global education organisation founded by philosopher Alain de Botton — where I help develop and deliver emotional intelligence programming for the public as well as major organisations around the world.

From 2017 I moved my practice to New York City, coaching senior teams at global organisations including Viacom, Meta and Atlassian, and developing Ignite, a leadership programme for senior women at Dow Jones/The Wall Street Journal designed to support their path to the C-suite. From 2021 I spent four years in Paris, extending my practice into the luxury and culture sectors. Currently I live and work again in London.

COACHING & FACILITATION

Effective leadership is an emotional skill set as much as a strategic one. I work with business leaders, entrepreneurs, and their teams on the inner qualities that drive outer results: self-awareness, communication, confidence, creativity, and the capacity to lead change as well as navigate it.

My approach draws on psychotherapeutic insight and business strategy in equal measure — which is what makes it distinctive. I've worked with individuals and teams at some of the world's most demanding organisations, including Arup, Chanel, Microsoft, Google, Apple, PwC, Publicis, American Express and DLA Piper, across Europe and the US.

I am also a certified negotiations expert, trained with the Schranner Institute — the world's leading negotiation and conflict resolution organisation.

As a faculty member of The School of Life, Leqture, Inrehearsal and ICAEW Academy, I deliver programmes to global audiences across the private, public and cultural sectors.

Therapy

I run a private psychotherapy practice working with individuals and couples. People come to me with relationship difficulties, anxiety, grief, addiction issues, or perhaps the quieter but persistent sense that something isn't right. I offer a space that is non-judgmental, reflective and genuinely focused on change — not just understanding, but relief from distress and helping personal growth.

I hold post-graduate qualifications in couples psychotherapy and psychoanalytic studies from the Tavistock Clinic NHS Trust.

WRITING

I write regularly on emotional health, mental wellbeing and personal development. My work has appeared in the Saturday Telegraph Magazine, Sunday Times Style, The Guardian, The Financial Times, The Observer Magazine, Elle Deco, Departures, Centurion and Telegraph Luxury, as well as a column on coaching for men at MR PORTER.

Post-graduate certificates in journalism (London College of Communication, UAL), couples psychotherapy and psychoanalytic studies (Tavistock Clinic NHS Trust).
